When I heard the news that Michael Jackson died, I was shocked and upset too. Though I was not a crazy fan, I liked his dance and songs a lot. Especially the moves he makes, the moon walk, the rotation he does... he set a trend, he set a history, he was a legend.
Ok let me share some of my views on the Jackson I have known. I think it was in mid 90's that I first came to know about Michael Jackson. I saw a small kid doing a break dance in a TV Show. The song was so energetic and the kid did an amazing dance, walked liked a robot to shop, climbed the stairs and did awesome movements. It was then I knew it was a Michael Jackson song but dint know it was "Smooth Criminal" then. Since I was just 15 yrs I was not very good follower of the lyrics but enjoyed the music and hymmed my own lyrics. You will burst into laughter if I tell what I was hymming... "Echa kacha poching, poching, poching" - yeah this is what I was singing along with that song. After few years I thought I got the lyrics right and was singing it as "Any body watching, watching, watching..." but later came to know even that is wrong. Its only when the Net became popular, where we could get anything and everything that I listend to many of Michael Jackson songs and got the lyrcis. So finally the actuall lyrics went this was "Annie are you ok?, So, Annie are you ok?, are you ok Annie?".
After few years happen to be familiar with some of his songs like "Beat It", "Smooth Criminal", "Bad", "Dangerous". I should thank my friend Bala who gave me a CD on MJ. That had lot of videos and I was dumb stuck at the "History video" it was so fantastic and awesome. I was glued to the video by his moon walk. I tried practising moon walk a lot by looking at his video. And it was then I knew Michael was orginally a black guy and turned into white due to plastic surgery. There were lot of news about him that he is not a guy or a girl and he wanted to convert to a girl, he had lot of plastic surgeries. His life is full of mysteries and problems. He had many allegations and especially his relationship with kids. He faced one of his worst times starting from 2002 getting involved in the child molestation.
Though I didnt get a chance to meet him in person, I took a picture with his statue in Wax Museum, in NY. My message to Michael Jackson is that.. "Hey Michael, I'm not sure if you were happy throughout your life but I'm sure you made many happy, you entertained the world, you set a trend, you were an icon, you created history, you are the king of pop and you will be remembered forever..."
And here is me posing as San Jackson. Who would not want to be a super star, king of pop. Atleast in picture, I could pose ... :-)
