Golden Days

Inspired by Mystery's blog on "Back to School".

I would simply call it as "Those were the best days of my life". For me, even the college wasnt that fun, but school days were the best. I did recollect a mail which simply took back to those golden days. Here it is ...

Gone are the days........but not the memories

Gone are the days
When the school reopened in June,
And we settled in our new desks and benches.

Gone are the days
When we queued up in book depot,
And got our new books and notes.

Gone are the days
When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet
Managed to line up daily for the morning prayers.

Gone are the days
When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals,
And returned to the classrooms drenched in sweat.

Gone are the days
When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors,
Playgrounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds.

Gone are the days
When a single P.T. period in the week's Time Table, Was awaited more
eagerly than the monsoons.

Gone are the days
Of fights but no conspiracies,
Of Competitions but seldom jealousy.

Gone are the days
When we used to watch Live Cricket telecast,
In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks.

Gone are the days
When few rushed at 5:30 to
"Conquer" window seats in our School bus.

Gone are the days
Of Sports Day, and the annual School Day,
And the one-month long preparations for them.

Gone are the days
Of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams,
And the most enjoyed holidays after them.

Gone are the days
We learnt, we enjoyed, we played, we won, we lost, We laughed, we cried,
we fought, we thought.

Gone are the days
With so much fun in them, so many friends,
So much experience, all this and more.

Gone are the days
But not the memories, which will be
Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and
Ever and ever and Ever.

I hope this took you back to your Golden Olden days..........

For a while..........as I DID!!

Didn't U ????

Good-Bad-Worse

WHEN THE BAD IS WORSE, THE GOOD IS BETTER - NAYAJ'NAS

Above phrase was taken from some book. When i told about this to my collegues, they all laughed at me. But this has got a deeper meaning. Ok let me explain.

Remember the school day story of Birbal. Where Akbar draws a big line and posts a challenge to make that line small without touching it. No one is able to find a solution except Birbal. He smartly drew another line very big, next to the original one. By looking at it, the original line was looking smaller.

Now read the title once again and guess it should make some sense. Another way of conveying the meaning is "Life is all about comparison".

Few weeks back one night the power went off and my god couldnt sleep after that. Without fan and with the mosquitoes singing their beautiful songs in the ears... The worst is the mosquitos will not leave you untill you listen to them and they start biting you. If you all think why the hell am i diverting from the topic.. im not. Think about the olden days where there was no power, no fan (But mosquitos were there). Did it mean that they dint sleep ? They did. But we think it is an amazing thing coz we are comparing it with the current situation.

We can quote many such examples. On a hot summer, get inside a theatre and the whole place will be totally dark. Its because of the change in light. Our eyes are used to the hot sunlight and all of a sudden if we enter a closed place without light, it would be abruptly blank. After using a hero honda splendor, if you ride a TVS-50 vehicle it will be like small one. And similarly after riding a Pulsar bike, if you ride a splendor, even that would be small.

In the above examples, what im trying to say is "We dont understand the value of something or someone untill we miss it/him/her". Do we praise the Fan everyday for its giving the air... no. Not untill we have a power cut we know its value. We dont know the value of Splendor unless we take a ride on TVS-50. There is a phrase in tamil... "Nizhalin arumai veyilil thaan theriyum".

Lesson from this - When you are in a bad situation, think of worser situations and this would be much better.

In a tricky way, when you are showing something to someone, show the bad one first and then show them the good one. Definetly the good one will have more value.

Funny tip for lovers using the same topic. Say, your parents are against love marriage (esp intercaste) and you love a girl of different caste. Go tell your parents you love a muslim girl (diff religion..). They will be shocked. Be stubborn and keep telling that you will marry only this girl, if not no marriage. At one point they would say atleast you could have loved a girl in the same religion. Then open the truth that this gal is same religion, ha ha!!!

P.S : If anyone wondered who is Nayajnas, its none other than myself. My name is spelled in reverse :). The phrase wasnt copied from any book, it is my own composition.

Making of KAN - Kathai Alla Nijam (Short Film)

Four years back on the same day, I uploaded the short film KAN - Kathai Alla Nijam. I have made a video on the "Making of KAN". If...
